Crossing the Rubicon: Celebrating Freedom!(Primary Recovery Seminar - 8 Hours - May also be done in a Weekend Recovery Seminar format) A journey from the hard, debilitating work of abstinence to the complete freedom of lifestyle change “People in recovery do not require another “Mountain Top Experience”. They require assistance in seeking out and discovering the “River” present in every valley. In this way they are empowered to live life in the real world. The 'Rubicon' is a river we must all discover and cross.” (Larry Larson)
The phrase "Crossing the Rubicon" indicates reaching a place of no return in one's journey - making an irrevocable, life changing decision to face your pain, receive healing for your woundedness, and move on. It is possible in the process of recovery to reach a place in your spiritual and personal journey where you can say "My current walk and lifestyle in Jesus irrevocably replaces my lifestyle of addiction!" Addictive Thinking will be replaced by Recovery Thinking and underlying issues of co-dependence will be resolved.
This seminar/workshop is a presentation and application of the C.U.R.E. method of recovery developed by Larry Larson in 2004, and deals particularly with the issues of Guilt, Loss, Shame, Transformation and Resiliency. C oping with cravings: Understanding your Biological self. Develop refusal skills. U se analysis: Understanding your Psychological and Social self. Self and Social awareness. R elapse prevention and management: Develop confidence and resiliency through Christ E xit the recovery process through lifestyle change: Celebrate freedom & growth in Christ Spiritually, there comes a time in the recovery process where you affirm and celebrate the fact you love God, others and yourself more than your addictive behaviour. Your drive to wholeness and the power of Christ will bring you to a "place of no return" - your personal ‘Rubicon'. You will learn and experience what this means through participation in this seminar/workshop. This is a seminar/workshop designed for those in the "Action" Stage of Change.
