Philosophy of Counselling:

Recovery Centre for Addictions, Trauma and Families embraces the Transtheoretical Approach to counselling which combines Psychodynamic, Existential, and Gestalt processes with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This approach emphasizes an empathic counselling style but also allows for insight, empowerment, and personal responsibility to drive the change process.

We value and champion a Total Life Approach to counselling focusing on healthy lifestyle change.

Recovery Centre for Addictions, Trauma, & Families exists to provide individual, family and group counselling resources for Addictions Prevention and Recovery, Trauma Recovery, and Marriage and Family Restoration.

We are an out-patient facility dependent on client fees for continued operation. We provide a client centered, personal atmosphere in helping individuals and families design an Action Plan that fits their biological, psychological, social and spiritual recovery needs.

If individuals and families so desire we will integrate a specific spiritual and faith component with their Personal Action Plan if requested.

Our fees are presently $70.00 per 55 minute session and are pro-rated if double sessions are booked. Family sessions, which may be longer than 55 minutes are also pro-rated. Fees for Government or Non Government Agencies are $85.00 per 55 minute session for trauma related recovery. More specific agreements can be negotiated with agencies or organizations that wish to contract our services.

We currently receive referrals from Manitoba Compensation for Victims of Crime and Manitoba Public Insurance - Grief Counselling. We are also a Service Provider for First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, a federal agency that provides financial resources for First Nations people in need of crisis counselling.

Specific Counselling and Recovery Packages are also available.

Some consideration for lesser fees may be given for families with a family income less than $25,000 per year.

We also provide Educational Seminars and Workshops for community awareness or Training of Staff Professionals or Volunteers. A number of Recovery Workshops are also available to assist individuals and families on their personal journey of recovery.
